Greater Daemon of Tzeentch Kairos Fateweaver

A Lord of Change, also called a "Supreme Mutator," and one of the "Eyes of Tzeentch," is an insidious Greater Daemon of Tzeentch, the Chaos God of change and sorcery.

Lords of Change are creatures born from some impossible nightmare, immense bird-like Daemons with shimmering skin, wicked curved beaks and multi-coloured, spectrum-shattering wings.

Those who gaze upon these twisted prisms of pure magic begin to feel their sanity shred and reason slip away. Faced by a being of change incarnate, bedrock beliefs crumble and twist, and the mind seeks firm purchase in vain.

Treachery, deceit, capriciousness: these are the hallmarks of the Lords of Change. Tzeentch's greatest servants weave scheme upon scheme, a dense tangle of intermingling threads, so convoluted and eon-spanning that none can grasp their true purpose.

A confrontation with a Lord of Change is likely to occur when and where the creature wills it. Few have ever managed to get the drop on these servants of Tzeentch, for the Changer of Ways is the master of destiny itself, and his greatest servants possess a portion of that power.

First of this series, the Greater Daemon of Tzeentch, AKA the Lord of Change, will be showed in plenty of details, but first of all let me share with you some background on the charachter in question via this link.

It is now time to behold ( 😁 ) the main source of inspiration, meaning the three versions of this miniature by Games Workshop. Please, click on the links to appreciate some of the details I am mentioning below. Of course, I might be not entirely accurate in attributing the influence of each model to the final outcome in my MOC, but -as you AFOLs know well- this is simply part of the creative process.

Of course, it is important to appreciate the adaptation into a Lego model of all these tiny, sculpted elements.

I

This miniature has litterally been a life-changer in my younger years. The slim, boney silhouette of this creepy has followed me along a lifetime of miniature painting and sculpting.

Here comes the elements I think I have taken over from this miniature into my MOC: 1) the vest, white and waving with some gold refinements, as well as the overall skinny look (not the muscled version of years later); 2) Huge and disproportioned hands and feet, including claws; 3) with the feather details of the wings in mind I made the basic decisions on the wings you will see in the MOC.

The inca priest hat still remains an unbeatable challenge for my MOC. So if anyone has ideas, please come forward!

This bastard is simply astounding.

Here the elements I have taken from it: 4) No doubt the exotic saber-like sword (and I was so glad to find a perfect Bionicle element to this purpose). 5) The spurs and claws behind the hinderlegs; 6) Little gold decorations over the wings; 7) The floating tongue; 8) The eye of Tzeentch on the top of the wand; 9) The many bits of golden armour around the forearms and forelegs, as well as some golden jewelry around wrists and ankles, hands and the belt.

This version of the stick with twirling energy flows are another option that I could investigate at some point, especially considering this LEGO bit.

III
I personally hate this version, as I find the wings ridicoulous, while they are an essential feature of this model and charachter (here they make him look like a middle-age seraphin with pigeon-like wings instead of vulture's).

One element certainly inspired my MOC: 10) the raised hand with a flame (although here it is summoning a minion)

Alternative versions of these three miniatures include the following elements you will find in my MOC: 11) an open book on top of the wand, 12) two heads, and 13) surely-something-else-that-is-not-coming-to-mind-now. Again, thanks for signalling anything you notice.

Update of 21.12

For the sake of completeness, here the first ever Greater pretty chicky daemon.

And must-mention is another model progressively merged into the same character, Icarus Fateweaver, featuring the 2-head solution mentioned under point 12):

And here it comes!

Many will recognise set 75952 of the series "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" and in particular the blue-pink bricks of the snake. This was really my starting point: the almost single-built face of the monster was perfect and I loved the colour of its wings: blue and pink were already half of a good Tzeentch summoning!

The white of some body parts and the vest, together with plenty of pearl gold decorations, create what I believe being a consistent colour pattern respecting most representations of this charachter in the Warhammer world.

It has a side of approx 40 cm height and 25 cm width, of course depending on the pose chosen, which are several. One might claim Bionicle could have been an option for this size, but personally I am not at all a fan.

The model is solid in spite of the its width against a small base. The wand acts as counterweight, pinpointing part of the weight back to the base.

Finally, most parts of this model are easy to separate from the rest (wings and rok, but also necks and arms if needed) and therefore it can be easily boxed and put away. Besides, as you can see, proportions are perfect.

In short, these are the features I have opted for:

  • Double-head and triple-arm - to increase the sense of asimmetry and ever-changing features of this daemon on the battlefield (and also to include several options like blade, wand, and flame in each hand - all well fixed and attached to the hands themselves).
  • One head has dark tan horns, the other none to intensify the sense of variness and "changiness".
  • Rock base (with LEDs) gloaming with Tzeentch magic energy.
  •  Majestic size to preserve proportions.

  • Massive pair of wings consisting of 8 smaller wings per side with thorns on side and top.
  • A firm modular system to hold the wings without excessive overlaps, while preserving mobility and a sense of feather-to-wings uniformity.

  •  Aztec-like tunic (possibly).

  • White vest like the original model. I love the back-side, as it seems to me as reminding some feather effect.
  • Tongue waving out of one open-mouth head

  • Set of rolled enchantment scrolls on the one side of the belt.
  • Pieces of jewelry, incl. Ring on one hand, Golden finger cot on the other hand, Huge amulet hanging around his neck, Gold chain belt and ankle bracelets medallion, and leg armour.
  • Armor pieces, incl. Golden armour bits on thighs
  • Legs with hinder spurs.
  • A spellbook hanging on the side of the belt with tzeeentchish flames blowing out of it (rolled scrolls are missing on the other side).
  • A purple/blue flame foreboding many blue and pink horrors. And a precious ring!
  • Exotic, saber-like sword (needed to be the closest to a saber possible and this bionicle bit is perfect also for the colours). Please, also appreciate the safe to block the blade in the hand palm.
  • A wand with open book and hanging scrolls (stickers made out of real miniatures/dioramas) and gold eye of Tzeentch on top

  • Claws firmly grasping the rocky terrain springing with blue flames.

  • Model is linked to the baseplate to provide stability, while the latter also serves as a cover to the mountain top and give access to the LED system.
