Hellcannon on!

A Hellcannon is a massive smoking construct of metal that growls and shakes with daemonic sentience. In battle, these arcane engines heave crackling blasts of raw energy that soar through the air into their targets, liquifying anything they touch and sending the survivors insane with fear. Hellcannons are guided by a team of corrupt and sadistic Chaos Dwarfs. These malign warsmiths escort and restrain the Hellcannons in battle, for the Daemons bound within hunger for a banquet of flesh.[1a]

This is how it all really began. The strongest intuition. The mouth of the cannon and the wheels. "If I can do this parts, the rest will follow", was my thought. Indeed!

Decided NOT to opt for a boney monster face, cos I preferred my octagonal trick for it with barbs and THE symbol, while the same number also worked for wheels and I could create huge ones with 8 radiuses to reproduce the symbol of the Undivided again.

Similarly, I have gone for a more personalised version of the back-side, namely the little grid where enemies are thrown to feed the daemon inside the cannon. Well, at least in my MOC, as in the original model it basically consists of some kind of... closet (!). Not sure my solution will be the final one, as at some point I will try and have a similar effect based on more classic bar-like bricks.

Then the body of the cannon and the right inclination, the skull with flaming eyes in the front, the smoking feeding box for the daemon on the back, the chains to hold it down while exploding, the bubbling lava in its mouth, the body of the cannon, chains everywhere, the stickers with chaos symbols.

The colour scheme is pretty good and convincing, LEGO providing basically the perfect brown and dark grey and even more the brass hue of the gold bits.

A couple of months of attempts -pity I did not take pics!- and this version now that I consider pretty final (98% at least). There is a very disturbing detail, though... not telling you which one... apart from the fact the Chaos Dwarves are fracking difficult to make...
