Chaos War Mammoths - The mark-bringer

The Chaos War Mammoth is like unto a living mountain, a wolly colossus bedecked with an elephantine trunk and great curved tusks. Of all the terrible beasts that roam the wastes of the uttermost north, few are as dangerous as the great primeval creatures tainted by Chaos and known to the scholars of the Old World as Mammoths. (1)

It is a recurrent attempt from many fellows MOCers to try and reproduce giant LOTR-inspired war mammoths (or shall we say history-based? (2)).

Based on what LEGO has produced so far options are somehow limited: either make one from zero and brick-by-brick or simply start with the already existing mammoth from several sets (3). The latter is my choice and, although forced to sacrifice the proportions (see pic above), fun remains guaranteed.

My project consists of three specimens, 2 of them have been finalised for years now, the last one still in the making.

The mark of chaos stands tall on the battlefield inspiring the norscan troops all around.
Please, appreciate the undivided symbol in this carved decoration on the side.
Here a detail of chains around one leg and ropes all around the body to tie the net.

This close-up is to show the details of the beast master in question and how he enchained the beast by the neck, his scarred torso, and gloomy looking.

Detail of the multiple, overgrown and overarmored tusks of this beast. The mutated mouth at the end of the trunk has been rendered with a Loki helmet to make it look like armored (fits really cool there!).
