Warhammer Mechanical Steed in LEGO... really?

Named by its creator as 'Meikle's Equine Effigy of Dynamic Locomotion', the Mechanical Steed is one of the more dubious inventions produced by the Imperial School of Engineers. Its clockwork mechanism must be regularly wound lest the contraption grind to a halt. This is a risky and time-consuming process, and several Engineers have met with injury after the winding spring has failed and they have been flung into the air by a bucking metal horse. However, when a Mechanical Steed operates properly, anything caught in its path is likely to be demolished by the impact (SOURCE).

For once, I would go for a super-mega-hyper Gamma version of a MOC. It is just screaming from within my drawer and decided to pay tribute and share with you all.

Main features of this model are the mechanical legs and elements, the heavy armor/harness, and the exaggerated feather/decoration on top of the animal helmet. The risk and at the same time funniest part was imitating but not copying a boney effect of these parts as they come out of the harness. The sweetest was the solution found for the tail, now a back-side plume :).

As you can see, color scheme is absolutely provisional, but you can also sense its potential. The harness alone would need heavy redesign.

It comes in two versions, with bent or straight front legs and different armor-head, while the rest is identical for both (details of the skeleton under the harness in the pic below). The former fits better the rampaging, the second the galloping :).

Here some details on the inside or better the "underneath" :) Hinder legs and tail are not attached here.
