Astragoth Ironhand - gamma version

Astragoth Ironhand, High Priest of Hashut, the minor Chaos God of fire, greed and tyranny, is the oldest living and perhaps the most powerful Chaos Dwarf sorcerer-prophet.[2a]

Far from complete, this iconic hero of the Chaos Dwarf faction MUST find its way into my LEGO world! Several attemps so far concluded into a fiasco!

New starting point is of course the Total War III version, taller and mightier. The new design respects mot of the original, main difference being the petrified legs of the prophet, which are entirely hidden in the OOP (which I prefer), compared to the new version, where they are visible, adding an element of challenge in our conversion.

Here comes the first attempt. From the beginning my idea was entirely mechanical body parts, not prosthesis added to a body (simply mpossible as a minifig).

As usual, beard atop of a cuirass only works with alternative brands. Also wanted to reflect the pointed shoes, one of the most striking elements of the new design.

Challenging in different aspects, once again I mostly pay the price of unexisting bits. While legs are quite ok (although it does not stand up), the real issue is where to place the arms compared to the rest of the body. The bent legs o the sitting prophet should be shorter to respect the limited size of dwarfs.

Also opted for a vintage design, with the mechanical arm directly attached to the hammer. At a later stage also the double banners should come into place. Forget the hat and the cloudy beard! At least as long as some 3D printing saint comes to the rescue here.

By the way, this is my first attempt of some time ago to reproduce the above version of this guy!
