Chaos Dwarf minifigs

The Chaos Dwarfs, also known as Black Dwarfs, Uzkul-Dhrazh-Zharr or the Dawi-Zharr, which means Fire-Dwarfs, are an industrious, dark-souled and merciless warrior race of Daemonsmiths, slavers and brutal killers that dominate the dark and cheerless landscape of the Dark Lands. At the centre of the Dark Lands lies a region filled with innumerable blackened factories, of hellish forges and massive armouries, a dark, heartless and nightmarish industrial empire the likes of which surpasses all others in the greater world. Long separated from their fading kin of the west, the Chaos Dwarfs have given themselves over to their dark master, and Chaos has worked subtle changes on their bodies.[2a][6]

They are the darkness and evil of the Dwarf race given form, slowly mutating even the notoriously resilient Dwarfen physiology, inflicting twisted terrors on their minds and souls so that they have become a spite-filled and calculatingly cruel reflection of what they once were. Unlike other Dwarfs, the Chaos Dwarf are deeply learned in the sorcerous arts, and have become obsessed with the control of hellish forces and the fires of the deep earth, combining the dark lore they have gleaned with an artisanship and skill for metalwork and industry undimmed from their ancient past.

They build the greatest and most infernal warmachines this world will ever know, hulking cannons the size of houses or shrieking rockets that could obliterate entire villages into ruins. From their massive mile-spanning hell-factories deep within the Dark Lands, shielded by deadly mountain ranges and set amid desolations of industrial waste and the haunts of monstrous beasts, the empire of the Chaos Dwarfs has faded into legend to many in the Old World, but those forced to confront their implacable black-iron clad armies and savage war engines know the truth. The day may yet come when the armies of dread Zharr-Naggrund march forth once more, bringing their infernal warmachines to sow misery and mayhem to all four corners of the world. (SOURCE

We are talking here of what more likely is my favourite race after all, both in terms of lore and design. Chaos dwarfs cover the babylonian style in WHFB (see pic above), although the oldest versions were simply shorter Chaos warriors (yet full of charm to me).

I believe the outcome is permanently outstanding in any edition of the game. Besides, they create huge machines, like Hellcannons and Skullcrackers that I have already MOC'd. And others that (spoiler!) are still in the sketching step of my creation process. Latest developments from Total War are leading to insane possibilities for the time being.

First and foremost, I have forgotten to mention the tribute LEGO paid to them with character col076 from Series 5 of Collectible Minifigures.

Although extremely cool, this guy does not eat the bull's eye and does not meet the requirements for a Warhammer Chaos Dwarf.

I have tried to identify (like I did with slayers in the previous post) the key features that a LEGO "translation" could not miss and they are: short legs, armor, and beard, plus possibly corrupted skin and evil/spirited  eyes.

What you see here is two versions from my much bigger collection of "evil" dwarfs (no one else than these two is WHish enough). The one on the left looks more like a viking raider, clearly building on one of the latest collectibles, and could as well be a standard Norseman but shorter
.
The one on the right is in my view the most interesting, especially as it gets closer to my main source of inspiration, e.g. this slave from the Skullcracker miniature. Remember: I do not glue or sculpt pieces by choice, but I absolutely wanted some horns on a bearded evil face!

So Star Wars theme came to the rescue, but it goes without saying this was not possible without alternative brands. That brown beard in particular belongs to a specific set that allows beard on top of armours for the first time (Why not you, LEGO?). LEGO noticed it and the raider helmet of the other mini is a first response in this direction.

Despite several official dwarf characters mostly from LoR and the Hobbit themes, as well as some old Castle sets, dwarfs in general remain pretty challenging for MOCs, as LEGO lacks variety in bits, as well as the Chinese imitators/competitors.

Yet, we remain far from any Babylonian style here. There are a couple of good intuitions out there on the web (from StarWars, from PrinceOfPersia, etc.), but nothing seems to be conclusive. I believe this will not happen without new or dedicated headgears from LEGO.

UPDATE 06.06.21

Closest imitation possible of the latest design of dwarfs. Copied from somewhere on the web.
Corrupted and mutated
Standard Norscan version
Another bad, short guy
