LORE
The Amethyst Order is one of the eight Imperial Orders of Magic whose Magisters, known as "spiriters" but who prefer to call themselves the "Brethren", are those Human wizards who embrace Shyish, the Purple Wind of Magic, and study the Lore of Death, also called Spirit Lore. They practice what they call "Cessationary Thaumaturgy." This term was adopted in the Articles of Imperial Magic specifically because using the term "necromancy" would have been both ill-advised and somewhat inaccurate, as Amethyst Wizards are careful to never wield the unbalanced magic of Dhar that is necessary for the true practice of that black art.[7a]
Wizards of the Amethyst Order are shunned by common folk and there is reason to see why. Even so there are many who secretly crave contact with the spirit world, with departed loved ones or those dead souls whose secrets they wish to learn. Amethyst Wizards can contact the dead, for they have mastery over spirits both benign and otherwise.[7a]
COMMENT
Am particularly proud of this minifig, as it includes ALL symbols of the Amethyst Order: Bones, Skulls, Scythe, Rose, Hourglass. Perhaps I will add some decal of Shyish symbol somewhere.
Originally meant to consist of two wizards, a woman and a man, first with cape and second bold, former with hourglass and latter with scythe, they magically merged overnight into a single gloomy representative of this Order. The second body design is ready and awaiting for later inspiration.
Most importantly this one guy will pilot and populate my bigger Garden of Morr project.
